Using a “then versus now” format, this document seeks to profile some of the changing approaches adopted by USAID staff and lessons learned to date to optimize integrated DRG programming, focusing on several projects that have proven to successfully integrate DRG programming with that of other
sectors in such a way that both sectors benefit. It should be noted that neither the “then” nor the “now” categories highlighted in this document refer to a fixed time frame. Rather, these labels are intended to simply reflect staff perceptions of how things have changed over time. Moreover, the “now” category should not be viewed as set in stone, but with the awareness that improving development programming is an ongoing process. Additional documents from this series profiling other USAID/DRG subsectors can be found at Localization and Locally Led Development.
