Social Movements for Transparency and Accountability

Welcome to the September/October 2019 Democracy, Human Rights and Governance (DRG) Learning Quarterly, the newsletter that will keep you informed of new learning, evaluation and research in the DRG sector.

This edition features key research on social movements generally as well as three case studies from Nigeria, Kenya, and Ukraine. The case studies were conducted by the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) from 2017-18, with support from USAID's Center for Excellence on Democracy, Human Rights and Governance.

We also invite you to watch the brand new trailer for The DRG Show , a fun and informative series the Center is creating for the DRG cadre! The series will cover key topics in Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance-what do those terms mean, how do they operate, their intersections, and more. The DRG Show will be presented by our animated lead correspondents and a series of field reporters, using clips and case studies from around the world.
